The Late Cathal Cornyn
The death occurred suddenly at his home in Drumlin Glen on the Sligo Road, Enniskillen on Monday night of this week of former Enniskillen Gaels star, Cathal Cornyn.
He was 55 and was single. News of his death was met with shock and sadness. He was a member of a well-known family, his father and then Cathal himself having operated a coal merchants business in the town
.
Although he enjoyed excellent health, he had retired a couple of years ago.
Outside the his immediate family, his death went hard with his former Enniskillen Gaels team mates, especially those he played with in the years that the Gaels won the county senior championship, 1976 and '78.
Cathal's funeral will take place in St Michael's Church on Saturday, following removal from his late home.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Murty and Margaret and is immediately survived by his sisters, Jennifer, Colette, Bernadette and Christina.
