New Fermanagh manager Ryan McMenamin has set out his stall for the coming year.

The former Tyrone All-Ireland winner was unsurprisingly installed as the man to take over from Rory Gallagher.

‘Ricey’ worked with Gallagher for the past two years and knows the players well, some of who spoke out in favour of his appointment in the last few weeks.

Now that he has the job, McMenamin has wasted no time in stating that the county can go forward under his tenure.

Many feel that Gallagher brought Fermanagh to their pinnacle which was reaching an Ulster final last year, but the new manager feels they can go further.

“Over the last two years I saw a lot of desire there. The age profile of the team is very good. Towards the tail end of last year, although results mightn’t have gone our way, I saw there was enough there and there was potential,” stated McMenamin.

“They’re a hungry bunch, they want to progress and that’s one of the things that drew me to it. The boys weren’t happy to just sit where they were at.”
