Ryan McMenamin during his stint as Fermanagh selector

Ryan McMenamin has been confirmed as the new Fermanagh senior football manager.

The former Tyrone defender – three times an All-Ireland winner in 2003, 2005 and 2008 - served as part of Rory Gallagher’s backroom team for the past two seasons. He was formally ratified at last night’s county committee meeting.

McMenamin’s ex Red Hands team-mate Joe McMahon will also be part of the new-look Erneside think tank.

In a statement, Fermanagh GAA said: “Ryan brings experience and knowledge from having worked with the senior squad over the last two seasons under Rory Gallagher. Ryan will be ably assisted by Joe McMahon (Omagh) and Paul McIver (Ballinderry).

“Ryan shall be finalising the rest of his backroom team over the coming weeks as he prepares for both the McKenna Cup and National League campaign which sees Fermanagh operating once again in Division 2 for 2020. We wish Ryan and his management team every success in the years ahead.”
