St Michael's College, Enniskillen 0-16

Omagh CBS 2-6

Darragh MacBrien scored 0-7 - 0-5 from play - as St Michael's College, Enniskillen defeated Omagh CBS at the Athletic Grounds this afternoon to be crowned MacRory Cup champions for the first time since 2012.

With MacBrien and Michael Glynn to the fore, Dominic Corrigan's charges built up an eight-point half-time advantage before second half goals from Daniel Fullerton (penalty) and Sean McDonagh reduced the deficit to the minimum. But St Michael's steadied the ship in the closing stages to bring the Ulster Post Primary Schools SFC 'A' title back to Fermanagh.

St Michael's laid the foundations for their victory in the opening half when five points from MacBrien helped them to a 0-11 to 0-3 interval lead. Omagh points from Simon Garrity and Mark Hayes meant it was only 0-3 to 0-2 in the winners' favour after nine minutes, but they outscored their opponents by 0-8 to 0-1 in the remainder of the half. Enniskillen's fifth point came from a Glynn penalty which he blasted over the crossbar.

Omagh CBS stormed back into contention in the third quarter when they scored 1-3 without reply - the goal coming from a contentious Fullerton penalty in the 43rd minute.

Their momentum was broken four minutes later when a Garvin Quigley point gave St Michael's some much-needed breathing space. They tagged on three more points before McDonagh's goal five minutes from time set up a grandstand finish.

But fittingly, it was MacBrien who had the final say as Enniskillen claimed the spoils.
