Omagh CBS 5-9
St Pat's Armagh 2-10
Mark Hayes and Simon Garrity struck five goals between them as Omagh CBS booked their place in the MacRory Cup final at St Pat's Armagh’s expense last night.
After Wednesday night’s semi-final replay had to be called off at half-time (when St Pat’s led by six) due to the heavy fog, these two sides returned to the Athletic Grounds for a third meeting and it was the Tyrone lads that made the most of their ability to bag goals at crucial stages.
Garrity raised two green flags in as many minutes during the first-half before Hayes found the bottom corner of Armagh's net afterwards to send Omagh in at the break leading by 3-4 to 0-6.
Come the 43rd minute the game was up for hosts as Hayes drifted in and smashed home another goal off the bottom of the crossbar.
Michael Conroy netted a consolation penalty for the trailers but in the very next attack Hayes completed his hat-trick prior to Conroy stroking home a second penalty in the late minutes.
The victory sees Omagh CBS facing St Michael’s Enniskillen in the competition’s final on March 18.
