Fermanagh boss Rory Gallagher has acknowledged that his team will be coming up against a Kildare side with plenty of momentum on Saturday evening.

The Lilywhites are 4/9 favourites to bring the curtain down on the Ernesiders season and, speaking to The Irish News this week, Gallagher has stated that they must raise their game from last month's Ulster final defeat to Donegal.

"The funny thing about a provincial championship is that when you lose a final you have that huge setback and you are coming up against a team that has momentum coming through the qualifiers," he said.

"But that is the reality of it. Kildare have the momentum of three wins and we are coming from a different place, but we have to put all that to one side and make sure that our performance is a lot better than it was in the Ulster final."

He added: "The final was a big occasion and we probably didn't handle it as well as we would have liked and we can't ignore that either."
