James McCarthy injury

(Oldest Posts First)

Any word on James McCarthy's injury. He didn't look too good being helped off yesterday night. I hope he's ok?

Looked far more than cramp he was unable to put weight on it at all and was left on for far too long and needed two guys to assist him off, I hope it's only a minor hamstring tear and nothing serious if its only cramp all the better haha

It was his calf

I heard he got a bad dead leg after a heavy impact

Very painful thing and impossible to run off, now that's just what I was told, they gave him the magic spray at the time and the doctor wouldn't have done that if James said it was a tear

Dead legs, had a few myself over the years, you've plenty of meat back there and a good kick can render the muscle useless for a few hours

Hopefully it's not bad and he can get back to training after a bit of a rest

Others bore their rust for everyone in Croke Park to see and the injury that forced James McCarthy out looked more serious than Gavin hoped but mostly, he saw the good in an awful night.

thats a reference to the injury taken from the herald
hard to make out what he ment haha
its the only reference i have seen to the injury since saturday in any newspaper.

Hill

It was an impact injury to the calf, read an article today with Gavin confirming it, they were keeping an eye on it over the last 72hrs

Should be grand for Donegal

I think Jim has form when playing down injuries he did it last year and mccarthy ended up missing a few games in the championship...it looked serious and concerning when he was carried of the pitch..I will be surprised if he features against donegal

That is true but this incident happened right in front of me on the Hoganstand side

It was def a kick, completely accidental but it was a nasty enough one

A very painful injury which I'm sure a few of yiz can relate with over the years

He'll be grand though, just couldn't run it off
