Strong team named
10 of last year's all ireland final replay team, with 4 who featured as subs all named to start tomorrow.
As usual will wait until throw in tomorrow to see any changes.

Amazing that none of the young fellas who done so well in the OB cup are named.

That said, lets see who starts, cant see that team starting

Well done to Niall Scully for taking his chance, looks a real talent. Was disappointed not see more game time for McHugh.

Niall Scully looked terrific today, fully deserved his MOM today, he could really contribute this year.

Certainly looks like Flynn has some credible competition.

Good win today
mayhem getting home with traffic
Felt James McCarthy and Jack McCafrey stood out in half back with McCauley best performance in a long long time from the start. Scully was excellent linking play throughout.
we got tired in last 20 minutes which was to be expected so onwards and upwards.
great traveling support today

Spot on assessment Hill.

Excellent achievement by the Dubs to achieve 30 League and Championship games unbeaten.

Won't last forever but let us acknowledge a marvellous achievement all the same.

Great to see Jack back - what a player.
He will be some addition to us this year as the season goes on. Some talent.

Scully impressed me today and will get more game time for sure.

Great result considering the players only have been back training 2 weeks...'!

good victory.

Nice start.

Some good performances. MDMA for starters was great.

Fenton was very good as was Scully.

The buzz when Jack Mc gets the ball is unreal.

Chaotic trying to get home. Only in the door, a solid 3 and 3/4 hours to get from Cavan to Meath where i live. nuts.

Really enjoyed the game and thought the Dublin supporters were brilliant... It was the best crowd and noise I have seen in years in Breffni Park... it would be great to survive in Div 1 and have another game with Dublin next season but I fear the worst... Hope all the Dubs had a good time in Cavan...they are great crack..

Good result and grand performance. Some very sloppy shooting but then again it is the first day out. Dean Rock, Ciarán Kilkenny and Mannion had some very poor wides but it's early Feb so it's understandable, especially with them not long back from holliers.

Scully was very good and I'd imagine he'll get an extended run in the league. I thought the defence was good despite giving away a few soft frees.

Cavan will be disappointed I feel as the game might have been there for them if they could have put a bit more pressure on Dublin coming into the last 10 mins.

Got home fine as I avoided Virginia more by accident than design to be fair. I wanted to go to the Jim Connell memorial in Crossakiel so ended up avoiding all the traffic and getting home grand!

well done lads. You won without getting out of second gear.
Great atmosphere in ground. Enjoyed having you all in Breffni, but doubt we'll see you for a long time.
The Virginia flyover will be in place for the next trip, or the high speed rail connection.

Fair play Sean.

All the best for the season ahead.

We never thought we would. Sat night will be a test of our real strength against Tyrone....a good idea of what we may come up against later in the Championship. Looking forward to it. Also it will be very interesting how our hurlers fare against Tipp too.

It was 2010 when our great team finally got found wanting, against Dublin in the quarterfinals. I think this was also the game which turned around Dublin's fortunes as well. They had gotten the monkey of their back. Tyrone had dominated for the 7 years previous to that.

Roll on 7 years, could this be Dublins time to fade. ...could this be the time Tyrone regain their confidence?

I'd like to think so but Dublin don't look to be weakening the way Tyrone did and don't really have too many old players.

It will be interesting year, very excited about Saturdays game.

Best of luck

Irrespective of whether we are beaten on Saturday or not, This Tyrone team are over-rated at present. They played div 2 football in 2016, and won an Ulster title with a handy draw against a Derry in free fall, an decent but not brilliant Cavan team and Donegal who are on the decline since McGuinness left in my opinion. They where poor in the quarter final against Mayo. I still think that they rely too much on Sean Cavanagh and 1 or 2 others. Just don't understand the hype, I don't think they would cause any significant threat to the big three (Dubs, Kerry and Mayo) should they meet in the latter stages of the championship.

Wayn, we'll not hijack this Cavan thread but some big statements there.

I'd suggest a Dublin v Tyrone thread in the main forum
