Weather hampers Morrissey appeal

Kilmacud Croke's Adrian Morrissey
Kilmacud Crokes have yet to decide if they will be appealing Adrian Morrissey's suspension to the DRA as officials and players have been unable to meet up due to heavy snowfall in the Dublin area.
The DRA remains the only avenue of appeal open to Morrissey after both the Dublin county board and the Leinster Council upheld the four-week ban he received following his sending off in a recent Dublin league tie against Erin's Isle.
As it stands, the Wexford star will miss the AIB Leinster club final against Offaly champions Rhode in Portlaoise on Sunday, something Crokes manager Paddy Carr is furious about considering his strong belief that the red card should have been rescinded by now.
"It is not just about us needing him for Sunday. Adrian was genuinely sent off for nothing. Without a doubt, it was completely out of order," Carr said in The Irish Times.
The problem for Crokes is they have been unable to gather due to the treacherous weather conditions. "We cannot make a decision until we physically meet up," the manager added.
The weather is also threatening to scupper Niall Corkery and Rory O'Carroll's plans to travel home from their bases in London and Orleans (France) respectively for the final, which could yet fall victim to the freezing conditions.
