A late Bernard Brogan free saw St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh earn a draw with St Judes at Parnell Park tonight.

The 2019 Dublin SFC got up and running with these Group 3 opponents serving up a cracking contest in Donnycarney where the final score read: St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh 1-9 St Judes 2-6.

Dublin boss Jim Gavin will have been pleased by the form of veteran six-time All-Ireland winner Brogan, who registered 1-6, including 1-4 in the first-half. His goal helped Plunketts into a 1-6 to 1-4 interval lead.

Goals from Ronan Joyce either side of the break kept Judes in touch. Last year's beaten finalists looked to have snatched victory thanks to Niall Coakley's 54th minute free but there was plenty of time left for Brogan to equalise for the Navan Road outfit.

In tonight's other opener, in Group 4, Castleknock overcame Ballinteer St Johns by 1-18 to 1-11 at Monastery Road.
