Dublin's dual in the crown Con O'Callaghan is looking forward to a well-earned break over Christmas.

The curtain came down on a success laden 12 months for the talented 21-year-old on Sunday when he added a second Leinster Club SHC medal to his ever-burgeoning collection.

"It feels like it hasn't really stopped since last year," he told The Irish Daily Sun. "It's gone straight through from March, we've been training the whole time.

"It took us a while with Cuala to get back up to speed this season so we're just delighted to get back to this point and to win.

"At the start of the year, we kind of struggled a bit in Dublin. We struggled to get back to the level that we were at last year. You'd expect that after winning the All-Ireland.

"But with each match we kind of grew in confidence and we got a bit of energy back from playing week to week. Since then we've been motoring well and giving good performances.

"I hope we have a couple of weeks off now. We're going off with the Dublin footballers on holidays in a couple of weeks so we'll get a bit of a break.

"When you keep winning, you're fine, the body doesn't feel it too much."
