Today’s McKenna Cup round 2 action resulted in wins for Donegal, Armagh, Derry, Cavan and Tyrone while Monaghan shared the spoils with St Mary’s.
Declan Bonner and Donegal coasted to a 1-17 to 0-10 win over Down in Pairc Esler.
Caolán McGonigle netted the game’s only goal in the 61st minute in front of an attendance of 2220 as the Tir Chonaill men secured a second win in the space of a week.

Meanwhile, in Glenavy, Armagh recorded a routine 2-21 to 1-10 success over Antrim.
The game was effectively over as a contest at the halfway stage with Kieran McGeeney’s side 2-12 to 0-2 ahead.
First-half goals from Ryan McShane and the returning Jamie Clarke (penalty) laid the foundations for their 14-point winning margin.
Eoghan McCabe netted a late consolation goal for the Saffrons.
Despite being reduced to 14 men for 10 minutes midway through the second-half after full-forward Emmet Bradley was sin binned, Derry secured a 3-9 to 2-8 victory over Fermanagh at Brewster Park.
A Ben McCarron hat-trick was central to Damien McErlain’s side’s hard-earned four-point success.
The first-half finished with the Oak Leafers 1-7 to 1-4 to the good and they kept their nose in front after the resumption thanks to two further goals from substitute McCarron.

Mickey Harte and Tyrone continued their winning ways when prevailing over Ulster University by 2-14 to 1-9 at Healy Park.
The Jordanstown college gave as good as they got for long periods and trailed by just 0-5 to 0-8 at the midway point but goals from Declan McClure and Peter Harte broke their brave resistance.

Cavan finished with 14 points to spare (0-17 to 0-3) over Queens University in Ballyconnell.
