Castlewellan painter and decorator; Mr Joseph McKibbin

Mr Joseph McKibbin, of Newcastle Road, Castlewellan, who passed away in Downe Hospital was a well known painter and decorator. He was 80. Mr McKibbin was born on 13 March 1932 to Bridget and Peter McKibbin of The Harbour in Newcastle. Predeceased by his wife Rosaleen, he is survived by sons Peter, Michael and Martin; daughters Mary, Anne, Eileen and Rose; brother Francie, Newcastle; sisters Kathleen Fitzpatrick, Surrey; Bridget Rice, Annsbourough; Rosemary O'Reilly, Newry. He was also predeceased by brothers Patrick, James, John, Mick and Peter and sisters Molly and Lizzy. A keen sportsman in his younger days in the 1950s he played for Newcastle Football Club, he was also a member of Castlewellan GAC, Kilmegan Bowling Club and Annsbourough HPS. The funeral Mass took place in St Malachy's Church, Castlewellan, with interment in Aughlisnafin Cemetery, Fr McKinlay officiated.
