Warrenpoint's Aaron Magee holds possession against Inniskeen's Michael Lennon

CPN 2-15

Ballyholland 0-4

Ross McGarry stole the show with 1-11 as Cumann Phedair Naofa of Warrenpoint overwhelmed Ballyholland at Pairc Esler last night to reach their first Down SFC final in 41 years.

Warrenpoint await the winners of tonight's second semi-final between Burren and Kilcoo in the decider after leading from pillar to post against a disappointing Ballyholland outfit. McGarry opened the scoring from a free and he, Donagh McAleenan and Aaron Magee had further points before Ruairi McCormack rattled the net to leave the winners perched on a 1-4 to 0-0 lead after just 11 minutes.

With McGarry on fire, CPN added four more points without reply before Joe Murphy finally opened Ballyholland's account in the 23rd minute.

Warrenpoint went on to hold a commanding 1-10 to 0-1 lead at the break and there was no respite after the restart when McGarry tagged on two more points before Tiernan Rushe got one back for the losers. McGarry nailed his 11th point before netting a late penalty as CPN qualified for the final on October 13 in emphatic fashion.
