Two of Gaelic football's most successful managers, Mickey Moran and Pete McGrath, pitted their wits against each other in a Down ACFL Division 1 game in Kilcoo yesterday.
And it was former Derry, Sligo, Donegal, Mayo, Leitrim and Slaughtneil boss Moran who came out on top as his Kilcoo side defeated ex-Down manager McGrath's Rostrevor in a low-scoring affair. Celium Doherty's goal proved decisive as the Magpies prevailed on a 1-5 to 0-6 scoreline.
Rostrevor's cause wasn't helped by the dismissals of Shaun Parr and Conor Doyle, while Aidan Branagan was also sent off for the hosts.
A 1-12 to 2-8 victory over CPN on Saturday ensured Mayobridge remain top of the table.
