Bonner keen for Rochford stay

Donegal manager Declan Bonner is ‘hopeful’ that Stephen Rochford will stay on as part of the management team.

Bonner made something of a coup by securing the services of the former Mayo manager earlier this year.

Already, Donegal captain Michael Murphy has stated that he hopes Rochford remains in the role and it looks as if Bonner is of the same opinion.

Speaking to the Donegal News, he said: “I’ve been chatting to Stephen and I’d be very hopeful. As a management team we’re due to meet over the weekend to go over a lot of stuff. I’d be very hopeful Stephen will be back with us.”

Donegal’s campaign came to an end when defeated by Mayo in the last round of the Super 8’s, but they had a very good season, winning the NFL 2 and Ulster titles.
