Dublin won’t have the luxury of playing two Super 8 games at Croke Park this year if Donegal get their way.

The Irish Independent reports that a motion submitted by the Ulster County proposing that “counties who qualify for the football inter-county quarter-final group stage shall not be permitted to nominate Croke Park as their home venue” has made its way onto the agenda at Congress which will take place in Whites Hotel, Wexford later this month.

If the motion gains the support of 60 per cent of delegates it would mean that Dublin (assuming Jim Gavin’s men reach that stage!), will, like the other teams, play just one of their Super 8s games at GAA headquarters.

Last summer they faced both Donegal and Roscommon at Croke Park.

In the event of the motion being passed, the Sky Blues would have to play their “home venue” game at Parnell Park or would have the option of nominating an alternative venue outside of the capital.

The 8,500 capacity at Parnell Park would present ticketing headaches for the powers-that-be.
