Donegal have become the latest county to top the €1 million mark for expenditure on their inter-county teams.

The Tir Chonaill men regained their Ulster SFC title this year and their spending exceeds the €894,487 they splashed out in 2012 when they won the All-Ireland. They join the likes of Dublin, Cork, Mayo, Galway, Tipperary and Kerry in the €1 million club for inter-county team preparation.

Delegates at last night's county convention in Ballybofey were informed that €1,007,170 out of an income of €1,419,206 was spent on county teams in 2018.

Players' mileage expenses at €271,849, medical expenses of €181,282 and catering at €180,634 accounted for the bulk of the expenditure.
