U16 County Champions 2018

What a performance from the U16 Boy's bringing the Division 2 All County Championship back to the cross after defeating Naomh Mhuire by 2:10 to 2:08 in O'Donnell park. The boys had to show great belief in each other to comeback from being 5 points down in the first ten minutes and put in a complete footballing performance especially in the second half where they showed composure beyond their years to see out the victory. Oran McGlinchey was outstanding in nets making two vital saves, the full back line was immense; Jason McElchar and Luke Browne both won their battles with Ruairi McLaughlin producing a ridiculous double block in the goal mouth to save the game in the second half. Gareth McGill and Aaron McGlinchey won numerous breaking ball in the half back line with Oisin Gallagher and Tiernan Kelly putting in an expedition of high fielding around the middle. Jack Bradley had ice in his veins scoring 1:5 with Ryan Coyle scoring 1:2 with an unbelievable display of ball carrying. Wing forwards Ruairi Campbell and James Doherty were the heartbeat of the team with no one on the field being able to match their work rate. Corner forwards Adam Sweeney and Dean Harvey were silky and composed on the ball never giving it away. Full forward Caolan McClintock came up with 3 vital points at crucial points of the game with all subs adding vital energy in the final minutes. This was an outstanding team performance with the boys showing maturity and guts beyond their years. This is a special group of players who have a bright future in front of them with a league final still to come were they will hope to keep their unbeaten season going.

Special mention to the management team of Gerard, Calvin, TC, Gary, Marty and Shane who put in the hard work throughout the year and prepared the team so well.

 

U14 Girls

The u12 & u14 teams would like to thank Griffith Plant Hire, Ballybofey & Mc Glinchey Tarmac & Groundworks for thier kind sponsorship towards their training gear.U14 girls will play away to Muff on Tuesday evening in Round 5 of the U14 Division three league.

 

U16 Girls

Thanks to everyone that made the effort to come to the cake sale on sunday morning and show their support for the U16 girls. Thanks also to all the people who baked and to the people for donating goodies, and to Mc Crearys, Glen Crafts, Cosy Corner and Sharon's Candy Cakes for donating prizes for the raffle it was very much appreciated.
