Breffni minor boss hoping to meet Derry again

Conleth McShane of Derry moves in to block a shot from Cavan's Philip Rogers

Cavan minor manager John Brady hopes his side will get the opportunity to meet Derry again after losing out to the Oak Leafers in last Sunday's Ulster MFC final.

The young Breffni men went down on a 1-22 to 2-12 score-line in Clones and must overcome Connacht champions Galway in the All-Ireland quarter-finals in order to keep their season alive.

Brady believes his charges will be up for the challenge against the west siders come August 5th.

"I'm hugely proud of the Cavan lads, this season is not over yet and with that fight and character, we'll go and play Galway now and we'll give them a good rattle," the Ramor clubman told The Anglo-Celt.

"We'll let them play in the finals now with their clubs and they can come back to us next Sunday hopefully, none of them injured, and we'll work on from there.

"We're in the All-Ireland series, we knew coming into this game that one way or another that where we'd be. We wanted to bring the cup with us, we didn't get it today but hopefully down the line we'll meet Derry again. That's our mission now, to get back to that stage."
