Ulster club round-up

October 19, 2019

There were three games across the Ulster club championships today.

Tyrone champions Galbally opened their Ulster club IFC campaign with a comfortable 0-16 to 1-5 win over Grange of Armagh at Crossmaglen today.

The Pearses raced into a 0-6 to 0-0 lead and were never headed throughout at Oliver Plunkett Park. Enda McGarrity, Sean Murphy and Conor Donaghy hit 0-3 each for the winners while Ben Toal scored Grange's goal late on but it proved to be a mere consolation score. Next up for Galbally is a quarter-final against Laragh United of Cavan on Sunday, 3 November.

In the Ulster club JFC quarter-final, Rock (Tyrone) overcame Glack (Derry) at Owenbeg, 2-15 to 0-6 and in the earlier throw-in at Crossmaglen, Newry Shamrocks (Down) sprung a surprise on Sean Treacys (Armagh) to advance to the Ulster club JHC semi-finals, 1-13 to 0-13.
