Damian McErlain believes Derry's supporters can be their 16th man in Sunday's Allianz League Division 3 bottom-of-the-table clash with Wexford at Celtic Park.
Both teams are desperate for a win in their quest to avoid relegation, with Derry having only two points on the board and Wexford having none.
"If the supporters get behind us as I know they can then we will have an even better chance of staying up," the Oak Leaf County manager said in the Belfast Telegraph.
"Last weekend when we played Armagh, we saw how the crowd at the Athletic Grounds lifted their side in the second half and I think we stand to benefit if we receive similar support."
"We know what we have to do and our fate is in our own hands."
