Baltinglass appoint new manager

December 13, 2017

Baltinglass have moved quickly to appoint a new manager following Paul Garrigan's decision to step down.

Replacing Garrigan will be Ciaran Walshe along with Paudge Doody, Mark Staines and Brian Whelan as selectors as they look to bring the Miley Cup back to the club.

Garrigan has fond memories from the two years he spent in charge, but feels that now is the time to move on to new ventures.

"We were in a bad place in 2015, we had been knocked out in the quarterfinal after a poor display against Rathnew. I think we've left them in a better place than they were in," Garrigan told the Wicklow People.

"I enjoyed it. I've had more difficult jobs to be honest with you. I got full support from the club. Baltinglass is a special club. We wanted for nothing, no expense was spared, the club gave us everything."
