Mayo don't make life easy for themselves and James Horan doesn’t mind as long as they keep winning.

“We need to be compelling, man!” Horan quipped when speaking to the Irish Independent following yesterday’s Super 8 victory over Meath.

“That’s what keeps us all going, isn’t it?! There’s a number of ways to win a game. The odd boring shi**ty one would be fine as well.

“As long we keep plugging away I’m happy enough.”

What are the chances of captain Diarmuid O’Connor, vice-captain Paddy Durcan and midfielder Matthew Ruane being fit to line out against Donegal in the make-or-break Castlebar clash?

“It’s tight but it’s looking positive, a lot can happen in two weeks,” was the manager’s answer.
