Waterford stars Austin Gleeson and Pauric Mahony are set to miss this Sunday's Munster senior hurling championship Round 2 meeting with Clare in Ennis.

2016 'Hurler of the Year' Gleeson is still struggling with ankle and back problems while marksman Mahony has a finger injury which is expected to rule him out of this weekend's clash.

Sunday marks the first championship game for Derek McGrath's side since they lost out to Galway back in September in the All-Ireland final.

Clare ran Munster champions Cork close last Sunday at Pairc Ui Chaoimh and are 4/6 favourites to gain their first win when the Deise men visit Cusack Park.
