Ken Hogan says he’s hopeful that Liam Sheedy will remain at the helm at Tipperary as the Premier County target more All-Ireland titles in the coming years.

Liam Sheedy hasn’t yet turned his mind to next season since Tipp’s 3-25 to 0-20 victory marked his second Liam MacCarthy Cup triumph as a manager and Hogan, who won two All-Ireland crowns himself as a player, knows that successes like last weekend’s at Croke Park are ones to be savoured.

“Liam Sheedy’s first three-year term, people talk about him leaving in 2010 but they forget that he had done three years and had a tough three-year term and ended up winning in 2010,” the Lorrha-Dorrha man told the Irish Daily Star.

“He was so relieved. And he had family commitments and he had to move on. But hopefully, he will stay this time. We are not going to let him go too easily.”

He continued: “Liam, in his speech (last Sunday night), talked about wishing the U20s all the best. And we are all fully behind them.

“I am sure it is the same for Jake (Morris) and Jerome (Cahill) and Paddy Caddell. They want to win this (U20) All-Ireland because it’s a huge opportunity.”
