This classy gesture from a young Ballygunner supporter after Sunday's Munster club SHC final certainly didn't go unnoticed.
The 'Gunners' dethroned Na Piarsaigh at Semple Stadium to claim their first provincial title since 2001. It was a sweet victory for the Waterford standard bearers having lost to the same opposition on the provincial stage three times since 2011. On the pitch after the final whistle, TG4's live coverage captured Ben Power consoling dejected Na Piarsaigh players.
His proud Dad Larry revealed on Twitter that he had arranged to meet Ben on the halfway line after the game and only found out about his son's show of sportsmanship when he got home.
Couldn’t find my son after the game in Thurles. No panic, the arrangement is that we will meet on the halfway line, which is where we met.
