"I have the utmost respect for Joe"

September 22, 2018

Kerry's Kieran Donaghy and Colm Cooper celebrate in 2014 and Sunday Game panellist Joe Brolly.

Kieran Donaghy has revealed that he respects Joe Brolly for what he has done for the GAA in Ireland.

The Austin Stacks clubman famously called out Brolly after Kerry’s 2014 All-Ireland SFC final victory against Donegal following comments from the Derry man at the time that the production line in the Kingdom was at an end.

Speaking to Ryan Tubridy on the Late, Late Show last night, the recently retired Kerry star said that he holds no ill will towards the controversial pundit.

“Fair play to Joe for saying something nice about me!

“No, I have the utmost respect for Joe – he has done a lot for GAA in the country. Sometimes he goes after Kerry which isn’t why I’m most fond of him.

“That’s why I took such offence to the article in 2014 because I thought he was a champion of mine.”
