Roscommon manager Kevin McStay has stressed that they now must focus on the remainder of the campaign.

Dethroned of their Connacht crown by Galway last weekend, the Rossies must now turn their attention to the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers.

McStay has always stressed that the aim has been to reach the Super 8s and that goal is still very much alive, but first they have to get across the qualifier hurdle.

Speaking to the Westmeath Independent, McStay admitted that a further two wins would see them make a claim that it would be a good year.

"If we win two championship matches we'll be able to reflect on a good season because we'll have got into the Super 8s. We want to be part of it and I have a sense that when the disappointment subsides - and it will," said McStay.

"We'll find enough to say that we can play a round four qualifier. We're disappointed, but life goes on."
