Postponements to delay Division 2 football final

March 18, 2018

The Division 2 final could now be played on the weekend of April 7/8.

The GAA's plans to keep the month of April free for club activity look to be in ruins after several Allianz League games were postponed today due to snow.

The decision not to re-fix the Down v Tipperary football game for tomorrow, Bank Holiday Monday, means it's likely that the final round of Division 2 games will be pushed back a week to Easter weekend, March 31 / April 1. The divisional final would then be played on the weekend of April 7 / 8.

While the majority of today's postponed games have been rescheduled for tomorrow, there is no guarantee they will be played, which would cause further headaches for the GAA fixture-makers at both inter-county and club level.
