Mayo SFC down to last eight

This weekend sees the Mayo senior football championship quarterfinals take place.

Defending champions Castlebar Mitchels are still very much in the mix as they face Knockmore in the last eight.

An Andy Moran inspired Ballaghaderreen continue their quest for glory with a clash against Davitts.

The meeting of Breaffy and Ballina Stephenites could be the tie of the round as both sides going into the knockout stages in good form.

The last quarterfinal sees Ballintubber look to the O’Connor brothers Cillian and Diarmuid to help them see off the challenge of Chris Barrett’s Belmullet.

MacHale Park is the place to be this weekend as all four quarterfinals take place there with two attractive double headers.

Saturday’s games throw in at 5.30pm and 7pm as Ballintubber v. Belmullet precedes Breaffy and Ballina.

On Sunday, Castlebar v. Knockmore throws in at 3pm, while at 6pm, Ballaghaderreen face Davitts.
