There appears to be good news for Dublin on the James McCarthy injury front.

The Herald is reporting that the knee injury sustained by the 29-year-old in last Sunday’s Leinster final victory over Meath is not as bad as first feared.

Apparently, a scan has revealed that the versatile Ballymun Kickhams ace didn’t suffer serious ligament damage which means he could be back on the field of player sooner rather than later.

That said he is likely to miss the Super 8s first round clash against Cork or a round 4 qualifier which is penciled in for the weekend of June 13/14.
