Pat Horan is the new secretary of the Offaly county board.

At the recent monthly meeting, the St. Rynagh's clubman defeated Crinkle's Declan Ward in a vote for the position, which Durrow's Eamon Cusack resigned from earlier this year.

Horan, who has served on the county board for 22 years, refereed the 1996 All-Ireland SHC final between Wexford and Limerick. He also took charge of Allianz League, All-Ireland club, Munster SHC, All-Ireland U21HC and All-Ireland MHC finals in a 26-year refereeing career.
