Replying To SouthMonMan:  "Does anyone know if the Monaghan match is on TV this weekend..? I see that RTE and Sky Sports are both showing a football qualifier match this Saturday but I presume this will be a 3A match and a 2B match. ?"
No Monaghan on TV this weekend.....just get your asses to Wexford and support the Boys !

Ward by far the best player on pitch today. 2 magnificent points from wing and took responsibility all day with excellent play out from defense ...breaking tackles...setting up attacks & sound defending.

Replying To MadgeKing:  "This is a relegation decider if there ever was one. The loser will be going down, while the winner is likely to struggle also. Kildare are the type of team that Monaghan struggle to cope with and with home advantage you would have to give them the nod here. It would be a pity to see Monaghan relegated all the same. They have given a good example to the other weaker counties in recent years. Cill Dara by 3-4 points."
Monaghan is not a weaker county....Cavan is ....your bitterness towards Monaghan is amusing....then again jealousy breeds sentiments like that....sorry we won today even though we are still relegated according to you !

Replying To Bernardo:  "So shelbourne you agree with me in that jack is more 11 than 14 player. Just wondering Shelbourne if monaghan are 1 pt down in injury time - should Jack take the free kick if it suits a left footer? Jack cost us a draw v Down as did Dick. Remember 2012 ? Dick going for glory!!"
What a miserable attitude you have. Thankfully you and your negativity is nowhere near this Monaghan team. If Jack had put that last free over he would have won the game for us on his own ? not so........I've seen Kieran Hughes miss easier frees from the right side and Conor likewise from the left. Jack didn't lose us the Down game as any real football person knows..........the entire team & management did....we're all in this together but you and your negativity wouldn't understand that basic concept ! Replying To sam1884:  "Yes for such a successful and football mad county their support must be amongst the worst in the country. They do love to stick the boot into Cork but good point about the hurlers. Cork bring tens of thousands to Hurling games. The only issue facing Cork imo is how to keep interest in football and hurling when another is being successful. Kerry don't have this excuse, they are just a very badly supported county."
For over 100 years Kerry have had to win 1 game of any consequence (and often not even that) to reach AI semis. Times have changed lads so get your asses up to Clones ......this might be it for your county...maybe not...anyway you will add to what should be a fabulous atmosphere ....safe journey & Up the Farney !

Replying To cacsmckilly:  "Monaghan generally love winter football, it suits them, heavy men playing on heavy ground. However once the hard turf starts to set it then Monaghan will fade, happens year in year out, not enough speed there for the dry summer days, unfortunately"
Hopefully Mickey Harte & his players are similarly deluded but I doubt it. Plenty of pace in that team of ours plus a very strong bench. Tyrone on home patch will be favourites & that suits us just fine !

Replying To Tirchonaill1:  "True enough, I think maybe the younger fellas feel they have to give it to him if he's out around the 45 for him to take the responsibility for the play, and he is brilliant but the man has been doing too much for us for too long on his own, fellas have to step up and put the shoulder to the wheel, Michael's best position has always been in the FF line in my opinion."
When Monaghan play Donegal I'm delighted when Murphy plays outfield.......enough said. By the way, we do similar with Kieran Hughes .....like Murphy he should always be positioned at FF....where both men do most damage !

Replying To DannyMcA:  "The perspex was put up as a direct response to the attack on the referee after the 2010 Leinster final between Meath and Louth. The attacker came from the stands not the terrace so go figure. Nice try though."
That's ridiculous. Perspex there at Hill because that's the danger area.

Replying To john1971: "@sidelineview !!. You were at the match last Sunday ??. As a Roscommon who attended the match Sunday I knew after the first 10 minutes we had this game bagged. Our work rate was far better and options up the front was better than cavans. Yes we missed a few goal chances and 9/10 wides in the first half alone. Had we any direction up front at all the game would have been over as a contest by half time. Yer in here saying cavan played poor ? It was the effort the roscommon players put in to keep ye out and we did a pretty good job on that . So the sore line at the end flattered ye but their was NO way " Roscommon " was their for the taking . Daft remark!." Yep I was at the game and actually it was Roscommon supporters beside us that said Roscommon were there for the taking - their words not mine such was the standard on show it was anyone's guess as to who would win. Cavan played poorly especially in the second half, but incredibly went 3 points up (after the goal for 50 seconds anyway) and still were in with a shout of getting something from the game at the end taking into account that it was away from home, a man down at the end and all our go to men were having an off day. Regarding wides, we had as many if not more than Roscommon on the day and add in the number of shots that dropped into the keepers hands and we certainly had enough chances to take something from the game. Roscommon to their credit were hungrier on the day and won by an odd few points but it was the lack of hunger, fitness in some cases and missed opportunities that contributed to a lackluster performance from Cavan which was not going to be good enough. After the goal we should have kicked on but as has been discussed on here there was something lacking and we let ye back into the game straight away. Perhaps playing the 4 weeks in a row didn't help - it didn't seem to help Tyrone either who lost their last 2 games sidelineview (Cavan) - Posts:93 - 05/04/2017 15:46:45 19760 Lads you have to acknowledge the facts. Roscommon have a few top quality forwards while Cavan don't have a single one. Real football people in Cavan know this. Rossies know they have the beating of Cavan any day of the week as long as they are reasonably well set up in defence & midfield. Don't blame Mattie for your lack of even one decent forward.

I remember a team, can't think of who it was, but the water boy would run in front of the Monaghan kicker every time they were taking a free. It was a game in brefni and only seemed to happen when Monaghan had a free."
Maxi Curran Donegal ?.......spends more time on the pitch than any player ...should be red carded every time !

Seamus mc Enaney would have a habit of Landing at the door of a well established outfit and taking it over Idiotic statement ...like when he took over Monaghan in Division 4 (was it ?) & no one else wanted the job & brought us promotions all the way up to the Top Division & Ulster Finals. Look what happened when he left..all the way back to Division 3...courtesy of that other McEneaney !
