Killererin GAA mourn loss of one of the club's greatest

May 30, 2020

The late Pat Devane was the first and one and only mayor of Killererin.

Killererin GAA in Galway is mourning the loss of one of the club's greatest stalwarts Pat Devane.

Pat served the club with distinction for many years as player, mentor, chairman, secretary, county board delegate, PRO and filled various other administrative roles.

He played on the Killererin teams that won the Galway and Connacht club SFC titles in 1976 and 1978 and was a selector as the Barnaderg outfit claimed their fourth Frank Fox Cup victory in 2004.

When the club marked the 50th anniversary of entering the senior ranks in 2018, Pat was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

A glowing tribute was paid to the late Pat Devane on the Killererin GAA Facebook page while the club will form a socially distanced guard of honour at their grounds on his way to the church for a private funeral mass today.
