Senior Championship wide open this year. Every team has lost at least 1 game . No team really standing out as being way ahead of the rest.I really believe there's about 8 teams who could win on their day so makes for a really exciting couple of months.

Was at 3 senior games over week end including two in PT. Ratoath were unlucky to loose but the Hill are always difficult to beat in championship. Dunboyne were the better of the two teams and being county champions have to be favourites, however Na Fianna's full forward gave the Dunboyne fullback a torrid time even when double marked. The match last night was of a different intensity to the weekend show with NOM deserving winners with little between the sides. Kell's have a very good side and do have players as good if not better than some playing county football -that fact seems to annoy some posters judging by their comments. The championship is wide open which should make for some entertaining matches.

Wouldn't give Ratoath a chance of winning the championship.

Hoganstand have in their match report that Ruairi O'Coilean came on and Gary O'Brien started when neither of the 2 seen any game time.

Kells are good but they peak every year away too soon and have shown their hand for everyone to see. Feis Cup and League is one thing but they won't be winning the championship. Why because they are at a high too early every season and when they get turned over in the championship like they did the other night, the doubts set in and it's always downhill with Kells after that. Semi Final for me. They are going to have Scrin put it up to them next round as well and could be in a position of played 4, won 2 and sitting on 4 points with one game to go after dominating League and Feis Cup.

It might b the kick up the hole kells needed.but when you have such pacey skillfull forwards this persistence with hand passing out the field baffles me.omahonys the other night only had to run with them and it all unfolded.losing ball after ball in the tackle.it wS like looking at under 10 game.all in a clutter and when got free everyone including omahonys players on top of one another.this has been goin on now for long time.there getting in others way loads of space on field in my view if kells use it they stretch teams.thats there strength but not using it.omahonys are average but use stephen bray exactly right.kells got that match up wrong to.smith not a full back but good player.they have 2 games to get over then knockout.can b done.

Seneschalstown vs St. Pats - Think Sencheschalstown could struggle here, probably on a high after beating skryne and have plenty of small young players who might struggle against Pats. Still go for a narrow sench win.

Summerhill vs Rathkenny - Easy Summerhill win

Kells vs Skryne - Should be an interesting tie. Not sure who Kells have to mark PO'R so they could be in a little bit of trouble but Skryne backs won't be near as good as NOM so they will struggle to stop Beano, Mattimoe and the 2 Reillys, so I'll go with a Kells win.

Dunshaughlin vs NOM - Another game that will be great for neutrals. Going on their performance against Kells I think NOM will win this narrowly. Anybody know how long Costello is out for?

Dunboyne vs Colmcilles - Dunboyne should win this by 5+. Colmcillles seem to have gone back a little bit whereas Dunboyne looked very impressive against Na Fianna and should only get better.

Tones vs Curraha - What a result for Curraha against Simonstown the last day. Haven't seen Curraha play too much this year so I'm not sure how good they really are. I'll go with Tones here.

Simonstown vs Na Fianna - Simonstown really need a win here and they will struggle I think. They will have to double mark Walsh after what how well he played against the best man marker in the county. I think Devine is a doubt for this game so I'll go with Simonstown by 1 or 2 despite there problems this year.

Don/Ash vs Longwood - Easy win Don/Ash. Think it might be the first time I seen a club team in Meath 1/25 to win.

Moynalvey vs Ratoath - Ratoath are very hard to look at, should be playing a more attack minded game with the players they have. Still think Ratoath will win this game though, a lot of teams don't know what way to play against them.

Very defensive, Bryan McMahon is regularly in his own half back line. Eamon Wallace came on and was coming out of the full back line and gave the ball to David Larkin for him to score a goal and win the game.

Massive win for Gael Colmcill tonight. Was it in the Mickey mouse competition. Where's all the knockers now. As I have said many times they have the best forward unit of any team in the county. Will be very hard to beat in Navan.

The championship is crazily open. O'Mahony's beat Kells during the week. Kells then go out and destroy Skryne and then NOM lose handily to Dunshaughlin. Wouldn't know what to think haha. Mitchell and Costello seem to have massively improved Dunshaughlin already

Wouldn't be getting to ahead of yourself, something kells can't seem to get a handle on, as Skryne have been awful this year and are now in big trouble. Kells are a very good team but are not the finished article, nor are any of the teams in the Meath Senior Championship which is making it very competitive.

Christ Scrin were awful, embarrassing. Kells can't take nothing from that game so bad we're Scrin. In fact at half time Kells were only 3 ahead. Scrin looked like they did not care

I said from day one it's the most open I can remember it and stand by that still, no stand out so who knows. We have never got it going in Dunboyne with missing a few big players this year and just never getting it going really, the last 3 including last I fancied us big time but this year has been different, we can feel relatively lucky to be there at the final day.

Thought today Lenihan was very good, was slow getting back to speed but showed his class today. On a side note Liam Byrne was brilliant today when he came in, genuinely could be a real prospect for the county going forward.

Cilles are a nice team, the way the game panned out it suited them, dunboyne had to try force it and they could pick us off, Lavin was a loss given how the game played out as Conlon is a nightmare, has to be marked so McCoy was a loss in being sacrificed. Had a feeling it would be very close today as did everyone I spoke to so no big shock, sets the last day up for a really big one.
