Well Castletown could be a senior club next season so if they do go up I would be very surprised if he left them.

So the two underdogs win out in the semis.

Oldcastle left their shooting boots at home and this game could have been a lot closer if they had been anyway accurate.

Final is hard to call but, like previous games, if Trim can get good ball in to their full forward line then they will be hard to beat. However, Nobber showed their mettle against Castletown and will be very happy going into a final against Trim

Trim will have no problems in the final. Nobber are as a poor a intermediate finalist as I've ever seen.

Not sure how you can say Oldcastle could have been alot closer to Trim. Granted they missed some easy chances but Trim were comfortable winners and missed some easy chances themselves in the end. In truth, the referee seemed to be doing his best to bring oldcastle back into the game. Interesting final now. Young Aaron Lynch looks a serious prospect and what lacks in size, makes up for it in class.

Probably true but it was down to about five or six in the second half before Lynch got that goal. I just meant of you consider Oldcastle's wides then it could have been closer at that stage.

And yes, the ref seemed to be pulling up Trim a lot of the time for minor infringements. Lynch a great prospect, the forward line of him, Douglas and Dowling are as good as most senior teams.

Think Trim are hitting form at the right time showing great metal to overcome DB in the last round but I also think Oldcastle will have enough to limit them if they play anything like their first have performance suggests against Dunderry.
Castletown v Nobber - Castletown by 4. Castletown playing well and easily overcame Meath hill in last round with plenty to spare whereas Nobber used up all their luck to scrape past Walterstown."
Both wrong. Bookie happy. Castletown didn't take their chances including a saved penalty while Nobber were more economical in front of goal with Brian Farrell rarely missing. Warning signs to be seen in semi-finals with Castletown wasteful against Meath Hill while Brian Farrell also picked off a big frees tally v Walterstown. Oldcastle simply not consistent enough this year with Trim also getting the big scores at the right time. Two unbeaten teams in the final. Hard to argue against that.

Trim were beaten by Bective.

The talent is there but the young ones don't have the same hunger and desire like McLoughlin, Corrigan and these lads that carried the team for years. Commitment is not there.

You're obviously just reading someone elses posts and regurgitating them here. You clearly have no idea of how many lads "carried" the Tones over the years - There's 4 McLoughlins that have played on teams from Junior through to Senior, not one! Yes Corrigan was there too but so was Darren McGrath, Richie Brady, Stephen Shepherd, Cian Ward, Alan Callaghan, Eoghan Harrington, David Nolan, Shane Glynn to name just a few more.
What information have you gathered on the "youth" at the Tones to publicly claim they have don't have the hunger or desire, elaborate please...….

Not defending the other poster but Cian Ward did mention a lack of commitment in an interview after the relegation game against St. Pats but he didn't single the younger lads out he just said it as a general thing.

Unfound, unfair criticism of the young lads by others on here IMO.

The point I was trying to make was that the current Tones youngsters dont seem to have the same commitment as the likes of those lads who have soldiered together for years . Thanks for listing out the others for me and sorry if I touched a nerve or maybe youre one of those youngtones.

Let's get back on track, it will be at least 2021 before Tones have a chance of competing in the IFC. Trim I think will win by a small margin. The loss to Bective was a timely kick in the you know what. But that was a while ago so who knows.

Perhaps you'd like to answer my question? What are you basing your comments on ? Or are you just another opionated failed footballer who likes to openly criticise players without foundation?

So you think the Tones will be relegated next year??

No I don't, just reminding the posters who were blathering on about the Tones on an Intermediate Football Championship and had nothing at all to do with them. I sort of tongue in cheek said that the Tones could not be involved in it until 2021 at the very earliest and to cop on and stick to the point.

Oh right, so the point you were making was nothing to do with the Intermediate Championship...……..just another post 'blathering' on about the Tones?
You are right though, it is getting off topic but to be fair it's an expansion from somebody commenting about Rusty Tiernan leaving Castletown to join the Tones...….. which might happen?
