Is it just me or does anyone else think that Mcbride is a tad bit over rated. Seen him play twice in tailteann cup and league earlier in the year and he was just average , nothing to be writing home about. Possibly 17 when you seen him play so still just a kid. wouldn't be putting him in the overrated category just yet . Still not the finished article and has plenty still to learn and needs to develop physically which he will do over time but I can definitely see the potential there and why he's been spoken about so highly. I Agree, I don't think he's as good as being hyped up, but he is very young and has the potential, he's already quite tall and a good fielding ability, if he fills out over the next 2-4 years he could be a serious players, but I've seen this hype about a number of young lads that just never followed up on it such as Dan O Neill who people were calling to replace McGill at one point. Even if he does remain he should not be brought into the senior set up until he is at least past U20 level as midfield is a different animal to forward line with the like of Conlon and Walsh. We need to be careful of over hyping a lot of these young guys. It takes careful management to firstly strenghten them up, improve them and get them ready for adult football. In my opinion, McBride and Costello are the best of the young group coming through at the moment but I think they even found the step up to 20's difficult this year. Great achievement from Moylagh who will be intermediate next year. Had battled through the years at junior without huge success and struggled with numbers at times. Has there ever been a recorded incidence in history where Ballivor lost a match due to not playing good enough? Every time they lose the first comment is always just saying it's because of focusing on hurling. Plenty of other football clubs have lads playing hurling , so why are Ballivor the only club where every failure in football is due to hurling?
