Lar's brother Michael was a member of the St. Vincent's Feis Cup winning Team in 1959. He then went on to win a MFC in 1960 and an IFC in 1966 with Duleek, before he finished his playing career with Bellewstown. His brother Thomas also played with Bellewstown.
