Hurling Championship top scorer: Regan by a whisker

Kiltale's Jack Regan celebrates a late score in the county final against Kildalkey

From a long way out it was a two horse race with Jack Regan and Anthony Healy go head to head for the right to be crowned Meath senior hurling championship top scorer.

In the end it was the Kiltale sharpshooter who claimed the honours but only just. Regan’s 1-6 in the final (drawn game) was enough to push him a point ahead of his nearest rival. Paddy Conneely’s late burst, 1-23, in the semi final, final and final replay earned the Kildalkey star 3rd place.

Interestingly Jack scored a very impressive 1-63 over the five games as Meath claimed the Christy Ring Cup in June.

Well done Jack.
