Conor Nash recently took his Hawthorn Hawks head coach Alastair Clarkson on a visit to his home club Simonstown Gaels.
Former Meath minor footballer Nash showed Clarkson and fellow Hawthorn coach Rob McCartney around the facilties of his local GAA side on the Proudstown Road. Colm O'Rourke, Seamus Kenny and Jim McCabe were among those who turned out to welcome the Hawks coaches.
Nash has been rewarded with a new two-year deal with Hawthorn after his meteoric rise up the AFL ranks since joining the Hawks in late 2016 as a Category B rookie. He made his AFL debut for the Melbourne club in their victory over Geelong last August and kicked his first goal at the top level a week later against St Kilda.
Great to have @HawthornFC head coach Alastair Clarkson and coach Rob McCartney down in Simonstown on Saturday. Conor Nash, Colm O Rourke, Johnny Mills, Jim McCabe and @shamkenny80 showed them around our facilities. #Humblebeginings pic.twitter.com/gtucFtSpW2
