Kiltale 2-15 Donaghmore Ashbourne 2-6
Kiltale got the better of Donaghmore/Ashbourne in the U17 Division 2 Hurling League final played in Dunganny last night.
The display of 15 year old Eoin Frayne was worth the entry fee and he notched up 1-12 over the hour. His second half goal killed off a strong comeback from a young Ashbourne side.
Liam Boyle had great game in goals and Gavin McVann commanded the full back line with the help of Aidan Fraher in the corner.
Minor Board Chairman Conor Tormey presents the Shield to Conor Ryan
The half back line lead by captain Conor Ryan, Luke Moran and Seamus Anderson broke up numerous Ashbourne attacks.
In midfield Adam Rooney and Sean Hughes ensured a good supply of the ball to the inside forwards.
Conor Duffy got through a mountain of work on the half forward line along with Jeff Wall.
Evan Clarke was a constant scoring threat but it was the outstanding Frayne who stole the show with a scoring performance which was made more unbelievable when you take into account that he only 15 years of age.
