Kerry bleating about this sending off. in the 14 semi final Keegan had 2 lads pulling out of him he kicked out making ZERO contact and the 2 Kerry lads tried and successfully got him sent now.

Mayo V Kerry - 6 Like(s)

Replying To KingdomBoy1:  "Dublin always seem to get the calls weather the games be tight or not."
Kerry got enough to last a lifetime down in Limerick in 14 i actually thought the matches between Mayo and Dublin were referred fairly in general just beaten by a better side

Return to 3 Subs - 5 Like(s)

Replying To DonaldDuck:  "Someone should bring a motion at congress to return back to 3 subs. That way teams need 18 players of the requisite standard and the Dubs cant hold fellas on the sideline to burn teams off centerfield (Mayo) - Posts: 220 - 06/09/2018 19:05:39 The game has evolved. Going back to 3 subs would be backwards step. Teams would still need far more than 18 players of the "requisite standard". Dublin and Kerry and many other counties would still have lots of players on sideline to burn teams off but they just wouldnt be able to use them and this would affect the weaker counties as much so how does it help them?"
it helps the weaker teams because the likes of the Dubs cant say to lads. run yourselves into the ground for 40-50 minutes. then we'll bring on 6 fresh lads of the same standard. almost every other county will struggle to have 15 good enough, so when they go down into their bench there is a big drop off in standard creating a bigger mismatch in the DUbs in the last quarter. on Sunday if it was 3 substitutions that would have meant they only had 2 left after Cian OSullivan went off

Mayo V Galway - 5 Like(s)

Replying To Tirchonaill1:  "J'm hoping for a Galway win, if for no other reason that to stop hearing constantly on every media source about Mayo this-Mayo that, no other county gets injuries like? they haven't won the All Ireland in almost 70 years for God's sake, Mayo the gift that keeps giving as Brolly the wise one I think said, we all know about the Mayo fans too, so you Mayo posters needn't be coming on here trying to whitewash over it by saying every county has some idiot fans, that is true to an extent, but the Mayo fans are in another league of arrogance, still I suppose it must be hateful to have list so many finals though..."
you come from a county that have won 2 all ireland's in their history and didn't win their province till the 70s so your in no position to be speaking about Mayos record Also quoting Brolly says something

Replying To ConnollyDub:  "Nail on head.... I suggest everyone go and look back at the 2013 final v Mayo. Bernard Brogan got all the plaudits for his two goals. But for me Cluxton was the man that day. For me his kickouts that day were the winning and losing of the game. And not just little 15 yard tap outs like some would lead you to believe. He literally cleaned out the Mayo midfield with 50 yard passes straight into Dublin players chest time and time again. And yes a lot of credit has to go to the runs that were being made out the field. But there's no other keeper that could have done what he done that day. IMO. Also, whenever Cluxton fails to find a Dublin player with a kickout, people go mad....''oh look Cluxton is having a wobbler'' ... Why? Cause it is so rare for him not to find a man with a kickout. That's how high he has set his standards. That's how high he has raised the bar!!"
Ya i agree the 2 OSheas were dominating all through that season and he took them out of the match with the accuracy of his kickouts. It isnt just his kickouts either he's the best stopper and the best on the big day under pressure. Then there's the winning free in the 11 final that only a couple of players in the country would have had the range to kick over.

so why should the players play for free then. the ones who generate a huge proportion of the revenue

Return to 3 Subs - 3 Like(s)
allowing teams to have 6 subs clearly plays into the hands of the Dubs. If the GAA want to have a championship that is more competitive they need to revert back to the 3 sub rule. There is no reason why players shouldn't be able to go for 70 min given the fitness levels nowadays. i don't see any county outside of Dublin and Kerry ever producing more than 18 players of the required standard if you had only 3 subs you would have to hold one in reserve till late in the game The Dubs are using the subs system almost like a semi interchange system and burning teams off with their subs late in the game

The Amateur Ethos - 2 Like(s)

Replying To Mayonman:  "That is a different argument. Do you think the players should be paid?? ? I am not ethically opposed to it as others are but from a practical point of view i don't think the figures stack up. Back to the my original point. An organisation as big as the GAA must be run by professionals at the top level. Do you disagree with that?"
Your argument is like saying Bruce Springsteen's roadie should get paid but there's not enough money in the gig for Bruce to get paid. Or Katie Taylor's promoter should get paid for a bout but not Katie. I don't just think the players should get paid i think they should demand it and they should see this amateur ethos for the nonsense it is
