A member of a highly-respected Antrim GAA family lost his life in a house fire earlier this week.
Kevin Laverty died in the blaze at his home in Toome at about 8pm on Wednesday. His brother Gerard is chairman of Erin's Own GAC, Cargin, who won their third Antrim SFC title in four years at the expense of local rivals Creggan last month, while his nephew James is a star player for both the Cargin and Antrim senior footballers.
The deceased, who wasn't married, was aged 58.
