Cathal McShane's joy at helping Tyrone to victory over Roscommon on Saturday quickly turned to grief when he was informed of his grandmother's death just after the final whistle.

Bridget McShane, who was 91, is believed to have passed away just minutes before the throw-in. However, Cathal didn't learn of her passing until after the game. Cathal's father and Bridget's son Michael was also in Croke Park when the sad news reached him.

Owen Roe's attacker Cathal scored two points in Tyrone's emphatic 4-24 to 2-12 Super 8 victory over Roscommon and is expected to feature against Dublin next weekend.
