Derry's Anton Tohill during the AFL Combine at UCD

Anthony Tohill's son, Anton, is one of three GAA players invited to the AFL Academy in Florida in January.

The 6' 6" 17-year-old caught the eye amongst the 21 players invited to last week's AFL combine in UCD and has been shortlisted by AFL talent scouts, along with Dublin's James Madden and Cork's Mark Keane.

Tohill's famous father, who managed the Ireland International Rules team, had a brief stint as a rookie with Melbourne Demons in the AFL before opting to focus on gaelic football, winning an All-Ireland SFC with Derry in 1993 as well as four national leagues.

Madden was on the Dublin minor football team this year, while Keane represented the Rebels at minor and U17 levels.
