Rising Offaly football star Cian Johnson's last underage game at club level yielded another county U20 title yesterday.
The gifted forward scored 0-6 as Ferbane-parish side Wheery defeated St Patrick's by 1-15 to 0-13 at Bord na Mona O'Connor Park to retain their title. St Patrick's were leading until Cathal Flynn's 32nd minute goal changed the course of the game.
After being prevented from lining out for the Offaly seniors in last year's championship because of an internal rule that committed him to the U20 competition instead, Johnson has opted to stay with the county U20s this season.
