Club championship 13

I heard another poster sayin manor can play in connaught but they cant play anyone who got a game in their senior campaign e.g. gary loughlin, aaron hickey et al so they wud end up fielding a third string side... waste of time so it wud benefit eslin more to participate.

Coppers Abu, don't fret over any second days out for Leitrim clubs, Eslin will represent Leitrim at Intermediate and have punched way above their weight to be in the county final. St Marys or Mohill will do ok in Connacht but expect them to be beaten as club scene in Leitrim is at an all time low.

Eslin will be playing in Connacht intermediate champ regardless of Saturdays result, manor can't represent Leitrim as it is not their first team playing intermediate grade.

I don't think Eslin care about Connaught! All they want to do is win the intermediate....period!

Ok so the intermediate final is this weekend and already the negativity about connacht has started

Why put such a cloudy sky in such an achievement by the eslin lads bananapublican?

And im sure Mary's fast paced team will also do fine in connacht

Yes no one gave Eslin a chance in Connaught in the junior in 2010 but they won the semi and represented Leitrim well in the Connaught final despite been down 13 points at half time due to Gael force conditions, they battled back to 7 points! Carrick should of beat Caltra when they met them in Connaught a few years back, and Caltra went on to win the all Ireland!! Any thing is possible on any given game!! #anygivensunday

current all lreland champs! ability wont hold leitrim teams bk as much as hunger and belief in themselves

Well done manor and hard luck Eslin. Goal at the end is always a nice way to win it but awful way to lose it, was tough on Eslin who had a storming second half. I though the beirnes were outstanding, Conor in particular scoring 2-6 was incredible at times, double and triple marked all game what a huge talent! Mossy had a cracker of a game at midfield, their performances deserved a win. New leitrim manager Sean hagan who was in attendance had to be hugely impressed

Anyone stand out in the intermediate final on either team other than the obvious Conor Beirne!

I had a look at the Inter final Saturday. Overall an exciting game but error ridden at times too. Fair play to Manor a great achievement to win an Intermediate championship with their second team. Hard luck to Eslin a great achievement to make it that far for such a small club. Its amazing that Manor have say 17 players each for senior and Inter who are of geniune quality. Im sure they had some other subs who could have done a job also as they were numbered up to 30. They get a hard time here but other clubs need to copy some of they do, they continually get a lot of players out to play GAA and this is something we all agree with and in turn they have reaped the rewards. They also dont panic when they go behind and are not playing well.

As for the Beirnes - Conor was immense, Mossie less so. I thought Mossie had a poor first half but granted came into it well in the second half.

Looking forward to Senior final now on Sunday.

It is hilarious to see the big push for the Beirnes who couldnt overcome Manor's second team. They are talented young lads but call it as it is. They were the only players on the field who are going to be considered for the County senior set up so they should stand out.

Would Aaron hickey not be considered for the county. I think he should.

Bananarepubllic, Were you at the match? It was worth the admission fee alone to watch Conor Beirne, he was outstanding, to see a young man who could score with at one stage 4 men hanging out of him, gets it turns and bang back of the net and did this for both goals,He deserved Man of the Match, and looking back at the fiasco of the last year it was such a shame that he was not allowed show his skills, hopefully next year. Thomas was not quite as good but did what he had to do. There were about 3 players on the Manor team worth a call up. So give the lad credit and not be sarcy about it.

Saintly I did not attend it as 12 games between senior and Inter championship this year has thought me something, that the standard of football in the county is at an all time low, a final between a junior league team and a clubs' second team didnt appeal to me that much. It is what it is and 4 men dragging out of Conor Beirne as you describe it doesnt to me sound like I missed a lot.

Conor won't be back. There's more chance of Willie Donnellan joining the Leitrim panel. Theres no North/South Leitrim divide. South Leitrim players voted the 4 off as quick as any North Leitrim lad.
