Fermanagh defender Ciaran Corrigan is looking for a good start in the NFL campaign so that he can stop the ‘slagging' he receives from his students.

The St Kevin’s Lisnaskea Secondary School teacher has revealed that following his red card in the Dr McKenna Cup earlier this month, he has received his fair share of good natured abuse from his students.

However, he feels that a good performance against Kildare at St Conleth’s Park on Sunday would be the ideal way to respond to the students!

“I got a red card in the McKenna Cup and the boys and girls were slagging me about that, so it would be good to get off to a winning start,” stated Corrigan.

“Kildare in the first game are going to be a massive challenge. They are a hugely physical side and they’ll be looking to get revenge on us for last year when we turned them over in Brewster Park. It will have a bit of bite to it.

“They are just outside the top six or seven teams in the country this past while and they’ll be hoping to make the breakthrough.”
