Two more Leinster SFC quarter-finals went down for decision today as well as one in Ulster and a third-round Leinster SHC clash.

In Leinster football, there was a double header in Tullamore, where Westmeath faced Laois for the right to take on Meath and Longford did battle with Kildare in an epic clash for the dubious honour of going head to head with holders Dublin.

The last of the Ulster SFC quarter-finals pitted Donegal against Fermanagh in Enniskillen, with the winners due to meet Tyrone.

Meanwhile, in hurling, Galway entertained Wexford at Salthill in what promised to be a brilliant Leinster round-robin encounter.
